Refresh, Refocus, Renew

Refresh
. . . a time for a new young, refreshing perspective – to invigorate City Council.
Refocus
. . . a time to define our community’s image – what do we want to be known for, inside and outside our City boundaries? Who are we and what makes us special?
Renew
. . . . a time for new ideas – I will work tirelessly for the residents of St. Albert
It is time for a new name on the ballot and that name is... Cathy Heron
Why Me?
First and foremost I am passionate about St. Albert. I believe it the best place to live, work and raise family. I have lived here all my life and convinced my husband Rob to raise our three kids here.
I have a vision of St. Albert, one that allows us to keep our small town feel as we cope with the inevitability of growth within our borders and the region. Residents of small towns know and support each other. They have personal connections within their neighbourhoods. How do we maintain this sentiment in a big city? St. Albert needs to evolve away from the bedroom community I grew up in, into a self sustaining center for our businesses, families, youth and seniors. We can no longer carry the burden of high taxes and maintain our expectation for a higher level of service. We will need to stay competitive with other municipalities.
St. Albert has adopted a new Brand – “Cultivate Life”. I want to be an active part of embracing this brand and lose the old brand of the “highest taxes in the region”
Cultivating our most valued resources to experience the vision of the future will require:
"As much as St. Albert is a wonderful community it can be even better if people came came out of their houses, shook hands with their neighbours, got involved with their community and developed a network of caring giving citizens. This will help keep the small town feel as we evolve into a larger metropolitan in the capital region." Cathy Heron
